Mission Statement

Lifeblood: The Thrombosis Charity wishes to increase awareness of thrombosis among the public and health professionals and to raise research funds to improve patient care through improved prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolic disease.

Mission in 2011

Lifeblood: Having successfully achieved our target for 2009, "STOP THE CLOTS", which was to mandate uptake of risk assessment for hospital-acquired clots on admission to hospital, we will continue to monitor this area and aim to improve hospital care of clots further.

Our new campaign is "SPOT THE CLOTS". This has come about from the many stories shared with us by people contacting Lifeblood of blood clots being missed by health professionals both in the community and in hospital. We aim to improve education of health professionals and awareness of the general public about clots. Clots can happen to anyone at any time!
