The Masquerade Ball - Pride of London Cruise Ship, May 22nd 7.00pm - 11.00pm
On 22nd May 2009 there will be a Masquerade Ball being held on the river cruise ship "Pride of London" with proceeds going to Lifeblood. The boat will cruise down the Thames and dock at Embankment Pier following which there will be live music and DJs, a buffet, a raffle and other activies.
We were contacted earlier this year about the event which iis being organised by friends of Lara Plewa who died suddently, unexpectedly and very tragically at the tender age of just 19 years old from a pulmonary embolism. Her friend, Sarah Moore, who is spearheading the event told me " On the 23rd February of this year, 19 year old Lara Plewa passed away due to thrombosis. She was smart, funny, enthusiastic and a pleasure to have known. She was doing fantastically well at university and made many friends that should have been friends for life, but as her family reminded us all : the star that shines twice as bright, only lives half as long. In Lara's memory, a group of us from Bucks New University are holding a charity masquerade ball on the Thames on the 22nd May from 7 until 11 pm. There is going to be food, live entertainment, a DJ, Raffle and much more. Tickets are £25 each and all the proceeds go to Lifeblood. It will be an amazing night so please do come and support this cause. It truly will be a night to remember!
I have put link in below if you would like to obtain a ticket and join in with this fabulous event - it is a first ever for Lifeblood and we are extremely grateful to Lara's friends for all their hard work arranging this. Thank you all!!
Carly Plewa is raising money for Lifeblood by undertaking the “Walk for Lara” along the Canvey Island Seawall with friends and family on 2nd August 2009 in memory of her beloved sister Lara who tragically passed away after a blood clot suddenly travelled to her lungs. Lara passed away at the very tender age of only 19 from a pulmonary embolism and it is abundantly clear from the phone calls, emails and messages we have received over the past couple of months that she was a very popular, much loved and dreadfully missed young woman. Her university friends arranged a fundraising river cruise (The Masquerade Ball) in her memory on 22nd May 2009 which was a fantastic event and there has also been a Just Giving page opened in her memory. If anyone would like to donate to Lara's page you can follow the link below. |
