Football Club raises funds for Lifeblood
March 2004
Many
members of the Eckington community in Sheffield turned out to a pie and pea
supper, held to honour the memory of Tony Sapsford, raising £635 for
Lifeblood: The Thrombosis Charity.
Tony was a committee member of the Eckington Boys/Belles
Football Club (EBFC) for more than ten years until his death last November,
caused by arterial thrombosis.
The club raised even more funds with a football match on Sunday 28 March
2004. The winning team (pictured above) was presented with the Lifeblood
Cup, at what will now be an annual event.
Thanks to everyone for their generosity in supporting our work, with what is our largest donation from a fundraising event.
